Fitting Instructions

Installation and inspection of the Cellshield system must be carried out to meet the requirements of
The Work at Height Regulations 2005.

Cellshield System Installation is done prior to fitting the beams onto the structure, before fitting of blue handrails on structure make sure all sockets are clear of debris.

Step 01

Ensure Blue Handrail is seated fully before rotating.

Step 02

Top of Blue Handrail must be facing inward.

Step 03

Install yellow nails and lock into position with Allan key.

Step 04

Place panels in position onto Blue Post, ensuring an even overlap between panels.

Step 04

Drop locking arm into position and secure with pin, placing chain over top of panels.

Step 05

Feed Hook bracket through both panels and hook around horizontal bar, tighten wing nut ensuring panels are secure. Cable ties may be used in addition to hook brackets in adverse weather condition (Stock Codes CTR780-9.0N)

To raise the lower access panel, unclip and lift from the centre securing in place by pulling forward and resting on top of Channel. Make safe by clipping onto mesh as shown. Blue panels must be clipped to mesh AT ALL TIMES.

Note: Cable ties (Stock Codes CTR780-9.0N)
Should be used to secure the panels to the posts to minimise movement on high rise buildings or areas.

Extension Panel Instructions

Fitting Lanyard

Lanyard must be secured to lower panel first then extension panel and all times when fitting.

Dropping Extension Panel into position

Drop extension panel into position placing Lanyard must be secured to lower panel first then extension panel and all times when fitting. chain through panels and secure with pin, when chain is not suitable for fixing use Cable ties (Stock Codes CTR780-9.0N).

Removal of Extension Panels

Prior to removal ensure lanyard is fitted correctly to both the extension and standard panel. Only release lanyard when extension panel is safely removed.

Removal of Standard Panels

Prior to removal ensure bottom panel is clipped to mesh

  1. Remove pin from top of Blue post, and raise locking arm
  2. Lift off Cellshield Panel and stack on stillage provided
  3. Ensure rails are secure to allow follow on tradesmen safe access

Complete removal of Cellshield System

Important: Cellshield must not be removed until the envelope of the building is safely sealed.

  1. Remove the rails from posts
  2. Twist the blue posts anticlockwise and pull upwards
  3. Stack all items in stillages provided
